I’m Trying My Hardest

try hardI started physiotherapy this past week and it has been a humbling experience. After taking my arm out of the sling 2 weeks post-op, my range of motion (ROM) was tested to see where my arm was at a starting point. As hard as I tried, I just couldn’t lift my arm any further than the 25-30 degree range. It felt like my arm was hitting a wall and I just couldn’t go any higher. But this is good, because I know where I am and there is a tremendous amount of room for improvement. I work daily on my assisted ROM exercises and am already seeing improvements. It is a slow process and I am taking my time to improve and get back to finally being 100% again. I know there are many things I cannot do right now, but I know that if I put in the work and give my best effort, I will be doing all those things in no time. My motivation and determination are what is driving me to work my hardest, and I am taking it one day at a time, as I know where I am headed.
