In her New Orleans neighborhood, artist and TED Fellow Candy Chang turned an abandoned house into a giant chalkboard asking a fill-in-the-blank question: “Before I die I want to ___.” Her neighbors’ answers — surprising, poignant, funny — became an unexpected mirror for the community.
Last year when I saw this picture I started to think of what I want to accomplish in my life before I die. I started to write a bunch of things down on a piece of scrap paper and decided I would find 100 things I wanted to do in my life. This is how I started this little project of bradys100thingstodo.com.
The reason I started this website was to keep myself accountable and actually follow through on my own promise to achieve these things I wanted to do. Admittedly it has been a little slower than I had anticipated, but at the same time I didn’t expect the responses and support I have received over the past year. I have received messages from people thanking me for putting together this site to encourage and motivate people to go out and finally do something they have always wanted to, which in turn has inspired me to keep going and provide that motivation. I thank everyone who has stopped by and shown their support.
Now, after watching the video, and reflecting on your life, what is your answer?
